For sale is a beautiful 1st Edition, 1st Printing of Stephen King's The Stand, published by Doubleday in 1978. The Stand Hardcover First Edition - First Printing Doubleday 1978. Features dust jacket art by John Cayea. 823 pages. $12.95 cover price. About 8.5 x 5.5". States "First Edition" on the copyright page and gutter code T39. Near Fine- in Near Fine Dust Jacket, a near fine copy in a nearly fine dust jacket. Boards are very clean, tiny hint of tenderness to the corners, pages are internally clean with some toning to the page edges, common with these Doubleday editions from the 1970's, typical spotting here and there but generally an exceptional copy, some wear to the boards which is common with these Doubleday editions. The jacket is pretty much entirely intact, very bright and clean on the front, a few tiny soil spots here and there, minimal, and a tiny slit to the upper back corner, and nicks also to the corners, but fairly small. Some slight soiling to the back of the jacket which is common with these Doubleday editions because of the materials. Still overall quite a nice copy, not often found as such.
