Action Comics #340 from 1966, a major Silver Age Superman key featuring the origin and first appearance of the Parasite, Raymond Maxwell Jensen. This issue also retains the original double-page Superman centre-fold pin-up, which is often missing from surviving copies. The pin-up itself is in excellent-looking condition for its age and is a great feature of this particular copy. I would personally grade the comic around 4.0 VG using CGC grading standards as my guide. The front cover retains strong colours and has very good eye appeal for the grade. The cover remains attached, although the lower cover staple is very loose. The centre fold and Superman pin-up are present, with the lower centre-fold staple detached. There is noticeable spine wear with colour loss, small tears and general age-related wear. The rear cover has some soiling, tanning and handling wear. Despite the structural wear, this remains a very presentable complete example of an important Superman key, with the first Parasite appearance and the desirable Superman pin-up still present. Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description. The grade stated is my personal opinion based on CGC grading principles and is not a guarantee of the grade another collector or third-party grading company may assign.
