A very attractive Kashmiri Qur'an copied in a refined naskh hand and delicately illuminated with three double-page openings (at the beginning, middle and end of the text) and every line of scripture page copied on a gold-speckled background and framed within elegant gilt rulings. Single volume, illuminated manuscript on paper, in Arabic, complete, 185 x 110 mm; single volume, 13 lines elegant black naskh script, some vocalisation in red, surah headings in white against gold banners, openinng double-page, central double-page and final double-page sections with intricately illuminated borders decorated in gold and lapis, verses marked with gilt circles outlined in black, catch-words throughout, some ornately decorated marginal devices also in gold and lapis, text-blocks framed in gold and speckled in gold throughout, a few early paper repairs and some leaves mounted on stubs, some light thumbing and finger-soiling, overall attractive internal condition; housed in contemporary lacquered boards, painted with floral sprays against a black background, framed within a red border, rebacked in red morocco, edges repaired.
