This was acquired from the estate of the legendary vinyl and memorabilia collector Bill Allerton - along with many other gems - Provenance 100 % Bona Fide Sniffin Glue is the first UK Punk zine which laid the groundwork for the others that followed using the DIY zine philosophy and technique. Sniffin Glue was founded in 1976 by Mark Perry and ran for roughly 1 year. The name comes from the Ramones song Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue. With initial printing numbers as low as 50, by the time it ended it’s 12 issue 1 year run, it was upwards of 15,000 subscribers. As with many of the music papers of this period, the articles, reviews, photos and concert ads were often first or early announcements for bands and musicians who went on to bigger fame, or burned out in a blaze of silent glory.
