Abrams in 2000, this oversized volume was produced as a serious visual and scholarly survey of Leonardo da Vinci's painted work. Pietro C. Marani—an internationally recognized Leonardo scholar and former vice-director of Milan's Brera Museum—examines the paintings individually while placing them within Leonardo's life, workshop, artistic development and historical context. The scale of the book is part of what makes it special.
