First edition
I’m offering an original 1966 McGraw-Hill hardcover edition of Principles of Electromechanical-Energy Conversion by Jerome Meisel, from the McGraw-Hill Series in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. This is a substantial 639-page technical work devoted to electromechanical energy conversion, electrical machinery, electromagnetic systems, dynamic systems, transducers, and related electrical-engineering theory. Meisel develops the subject from energy-state functions and equilibrium equations through practical electromechanical devices and rotating machinery, making this an excellent older-school engineering reference as well as an interesting piece of electrical-engineering history. This is the original McGraw-Hill edition rather than the later 1984 Krieger reprint. It retains its distinctive orange original dust jacket, an important plus for a technical hardcover of this age. The jacket shows age and use, including rubbing, edge wear, small tears and chipping, particularly around the upper edge and spine ends. The hardcover remains protected underneath. A previous owner’s name, “D W Russell,” is written on the front endpaper. The interior pages are clean. A solid working copy for an electrical engineer, engineering student, researcher, or collector of vintage technical books, especially anyone interested in electric machinery, electromagnetic theory, motors, generators, transducers, control systems, or the historical development of electromechanical engineering.
