First Voyager Edition, 1975, Harcourt Brace Jovanovich (Voyager AVB 91), first printing with the A-J letter line on the copyright page. Original $1.65 cover price. This is the combined edition of The Magic Bed-Knob and Bonfires and Broomsticks, the two Mary Norton stories that became the 1971 Walt Disney film Bedknobs and Broomsticks, as the back cover itself notes. Miss Price, the spinster studying to be a witch; the Wilson children; the brass knob that turns their bed into transport through place and time. Norton also wrote The Borrowers, and Blegvad's illustrations here are part of why this edition is remembered. The purple Voyager cover with the flying bed over the house at dusk is the one a lot of readers grew up with. This copy has been read and shows it. Cover wear, spine creasing, and staining are all pictured, along with the label and tape stains on the inside front cover and first page.
