Hannah Szenes (1921–1944) was a Hungarian Jewish poet, playwright, and paratrooper trained by the British Army during WWII. She parachuted into Yugoslavia with the mission of aiding Jews under Nazi occupation but was captured in Hungary and executed at just 23 years old. This particular book, “Besodo Shel Chen”, is a posthumous collection of her writings and diaries, edited and published in Hebrew. Works by Szenes are highly regarded both as literary contributions and as Zionist historical documents, making them collectible.
