Written by curator and Australian art scholar Barry Pearce, with an introduction by Edmund Capon and contributions by Frances Lindsay and Lou Klepac. Published by the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, 2007, with production by The Beagle Press. Produced for the major Sidney Nolan retrospective held at the Art Gallery of New South Wales from November 2007 to February 2008 before travelling to the National Gallery of Victoria and Queensland Art Gallery. The exhibition surveyed Nolan's career chronologically, from his early Melbourne works through the celebrated Ned Kelly paintings, Central Australian landscapes, explorer subjects and his later international work. The volume contains 272 pages and more than 200 illustrations, with large colour plates, double-page images and gatefolds.
