Ernest Foussier (1859-1917) was a French architect and a professor at the trade association of upholsterers and decorators. He was commissioned by the Vanderbilt family to decorate their house on Avenue Foch. A precursor of Art Deco, he won a medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition. Chromolithograph plate by Henry Sicard and Farradesche after an illustration by Ernest Foussier. Paper size: 47.7 x 35 cm. Mounted, overall size: 50 x 37.5 cm.
