This is astronaut Fred Haise's autobiography. Haise signed Never Panic Early, adding "Apollo 13 LMP" afterwards. This is a first edition, first printing, hard cover. Included with Never Panic Early is a picture of Haise signed the book at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum in April 2025. A flyer from the event also comes with it. Never Panic Early tells the tale of a boy hailing from a small town in Mississippi who become a test pilot, a backup to Apollo 8 and Apollo 11, the lunar module pilot for Apollo 13, and the commander to test a space shuttle. It was Apollo 13, though, that propelled Haise, Jim Lovell and Jack Swigert into mortal danger and the riveting subjects of Lovell's Lost Moon and the "Apollo 13" movie. This copy of Never Panic Early is somewhat rare. This is a signed first edition, first printing. On the copyright page near the bottom, the series of numbers read 26 25 24 23 22 1 2 3 4 5, the designation of a first printing. The book is in very good condition. There are no other writing besides Fred Haise's signature and "Apollo 13 LMP." The price on the dust jacket is clipped. No rips, no tears, no remainder marks, no water damage, not a library book, not a book club.
