Incredible Hulk King-Size Special #1, Marvel Comics, 1968, also known as Incredible Hulk Annual #1. A fantastic Silver Age Hulk issue featuring one of Jim Steranko’s most recognisable Hulk covers. This is the first Incredible Hulk Annual and contains the full-length “A Refuge Divided!” story, featuring Hulk alongside Black Bolt, Gorgon, Lockjaw, Maximus and the Inhumans. The comic still displays extremely well for its age, with strong, bright front-cover colours and excellent visual appeal. There is a vintage 1/9 UK price marking to the upper-right corner. I would personally grade this approximately 4.0-4.5 VG using CGC grading principles. Visible condition includes general spine and edge wear, heavier wear around the lower spine including an approximate 6-8cm split on the spine, colour-breaking creases, corner wear, rear-cover toning and soiling, plus some small edge tears. Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description. A very attractive affordable copy of an important Silver Age Hulk issue, particularly desirable for the classic Steranko artwork and early Inhumans story. The grade stated is my personal opinion using CGC grading standards as a guide. Grading is subjective and another collector or professional grading company may reach a different grade.
