Scarce first edition hardcover of the Bureau of American Ethnology. This volumes contains the "Eskimo about Bering Strait" by Edward Nelson (1899). This is a good copy of this seminal work, but needs to be rebound as shown in photos. All pages still there, and all but the front inside page still attached. There are many illustrations. 518pages. This copy was a Christmas present by Author Nelson in 1909 to Paul Holcombe (?) as shown in photo. Very rare copy with inscription! Feel free to ask questions!
