Hi! You're looking at a great condition book which is a classic and groundbreaking examination of the increasing influence of Eastern ideas, philosophy, religion and culture in the West written by F. S. C. NORTHROP--the book is an unstated FIRST EDITION and Third Printing a HARDCOVER with the RARE and hard to find ORIGINAL DUSTJACKET. This book is in great condition and the book itself has some margin stars, margin brackets, underlining and one instance of marginalia on approximately 86 of the book's 531 pages (many of these pages have just a couple of margin stars or a couple of margin brackets, and some have more extensive underlining), very light dings on the spine and opening tips, some fading and a few light scuffs on the gold gilt upper page edge, a couple of very light scuffs on the lower page edge, a small gift inscription and later owner's name on the blank first page and just slight shelfwear and very light evidence of gentle browsing but no other significant imperfections; the dustjacket has some light sunning (fading) on the spine edge and edges of the front cover, light dings and a few small tears on the spine tips, a vertical crease on the center spine edge, light dings and three very small tears on the opening tips, a few very small tears and creases on the upper and lower edges, a clipped upper corner of the front inner flap and just light shelfwear otherwise but no other significant imperfections.
