Vintage Soviet art book “Образы скульптуры” (Images of Sculpture) by David Efimovich Arkin, published by Iskusstvo, Moscow, in 1961. A substantial illustrated study devoted to the history and art of sculpture, including classical European and Russian/Soviet sculpture. The book discusses and illustrates works by Bernini, Falconet, Rastrelli, Shubin, Rodin, Golubkina, Konenkov, Vera Mukhina and others. The volume contains numerous high-quality black-and-white photographic illustrations, including full-page images and large double-page reproductions. Published in a relatively small edition of only 5,500 copies. Hardcover with the original dust jacket. An especially interesting feature of this copy is the ex libris on the front endpaper: “Книгозбірня Галини Богданович” (Library of Halyna Bohdanovych). The bookplate was designed by Ukrainian artist Andriy Vyunyk.
