VOYAGE DE L'ATLANTIQUE AU PACIFIQUE A TRAVERS LE CANADA, LES MONTAGNES ROCHEUSES ET LA COLOMBIE ANGLAISE. The first edition in French of Milton and Cheadle's The Northwest Passage by Land, translated by J. Belin-De Launay, with the authors' permission. This account of the explorers' trip, by horseback from Edmonton by way of the Frazer and Thompson rivers to Fort Kamloops in the summer of 1863, is now believed to have been entirely the work of Cheadle, based on comparison with his own journal. Wagner notes that Cheadle's description of the Cariboo mines is one of the best in existence.
