Agatha Christie's Go Back For Murder is an adaptation of her 1942 detective novel Five Little Pigs, first performed at King's Theatre Edinburgh, 23rd Feb. 1960. It transferred to the Duchess Theatre in London's West End. The accompanying programme is for the 1960 touring production (at Golders Green theatre). The stage play was viewed by Carlene Mair of Elstree's Reading Department on 24th February, the report typed up and delivered five days later. The verdict was lukewarm, commenting: 'very well received... reviews favourable, but I do not think this is among the author's best plays... It is not an outstandingly good subject for the cinema... not really a thriller... not potentially big and exciting enough for anything but a supporting feature'. The play closed after 37 performances. A scarce film industry critique on a best-selling author's forgotten work, from one of Britain's best-known and well-loved film studios.
