Five issues of NOVA magazine dating from 1971–1973, offering an excellent cross-section of the magazine’s distinctive fashion, photography, graphic design and progressive social journalism. The bundle comprises: May 1971 February 1972 October 1972 October 1973 November 1973 The November 1973 issue is missing page 73–74 from Carolyn Faulder’s “Rabbits, friends, enemies and relations” feature. The other four issues in this group are complete and notable for their provocative or risqué NOVA covers, characteristic of the magazine’s deliberately challenging approach to sex, gender and social attitudes in the early 1970s. Across the five issues are contributions and features involving Caroline Baker, David Hillman, Duffy, Harri Peccinotti, Patricia Highsmith, Roman Polanski and others, alongside NOVA’s characteristic coverage of relationships, women’s lives, fashion, politics and contemporary society. All five magazines are in good condition, with varying degrees of cover, edge and handling wear. One has a name written lightly in pencil on the front cover. The magazines lie flat and the internal pages are generally clean and well presented.
