For bid is an original Saturday, July 29, 1899 FULL ISSUE of "SUCCESS" magazine published in New York with 16 total pages (including front and back covers) and a cover portrait of the namesake of the French "Dreyfus Affair" Captain Alfred Dreyful, a prisoner due to French military antisemitism. This is a terrific issue of the oversized magazine "SUCCESS." Cost 5 cents back in 1899. Dreyfus was a decorated Jewish military officer serving France who was wrongfully convicted & twice-convicted of spying for Germany. His military conviction and imprisonment stirred the "Dreyfus Affair" and raised serious awareness of antisemitism in French society, and especially in military ranks in France. Magazine has several articles and some illustrations. Pages numbered 577 to 592. This kind of pagination was common in Victorian magazines. Magazine is complete but has some stains from moisture exposure at some time in the last 127 years... Still a great American magazine published in English. New York, United States.
