This 11” x 8” hardcover book is illustrated with 13 black/white photos and one double page color reproduction of a sand painting. The book chronicles the author Franc Johnson Newcomb’s experience running a trading-post in Navajo country in the American Southwest and the study of Navajo beliefs and culture. No dust jacket. Cover has stains on front/back and has bumped and scuffed corners and edges in spine area. The spine label is torn and worn. Binding is a little stressed in a few areas of text.
