These are 6 “Buckram”-bound collections of issues of Western Horseman magazine, January 1937 through May-June 1948 (volumes 2 through 13). I counted 67 issues. NOTE: There is no November-December issues for 1937 and 1938. I don’t know if these are missing issues or were simply not published for some reason. A Google “AI” search on different days has given wildly different values for these as a group, using the exact same query. (AI is completely unreliable). What their exact – or even approximate -- value is, I can’t tell, but they are certainly rare (especially the 1930s issues). These bound collections have the following attributes: 1. They are “Buckram” bound, each by A.F. Brosius & Co in San Jose, California. Two bound collections (volumes 6-7, 1941-1942 and volumes 10-11, 1945-1946) are both inscribed in handwritten script “Bound and presented to Frank on his 39th birthday by his mother, February 22, 1947, Mamie Dean.”) Hence, these are NOT public library books, subject to various marks and mishandling by various people throughout the decades. 2. They are in very good condition. (What condition could best be expected for magazines that went through the mail and are about 80 years old?) There is a slight stain on one issue, I noticed, and a ripple across one page in another, a kind of long smudge (tape?) damage on another (1946-Sept-Oct), etc., but I haven’t inspected every single page to see what harms perfection. 3.
