Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston, 1966. First printing. Paperbound. Well worn and chipped wrappers with splits at spine bottom and top rear. Wrappers starting to separate from contents, but holding. Minor bumps/chips to some page corners/edges but otherwise plates appear clean. Includes the “erratum” slip. Portrait studies taken in the New York City subway system during the 1930's and early 1940's; dedicated posthumously to Evans' collaborator James Agee (who provided the 2-page introduction, dated October, 1940). Over 100 b/w Photographs.
