Scarce. All 8 plates are present. This is an 1894 First Edition hardcover. I believe this is the true First Edition with a more basic binding. The other, more decorative bindings appear to be first editions of best selling books, but I'm unsure. The book is in VERY GOOD Condition with light soiling, light wear, pencil notation of when book was purchased on first free endpaper. The first few pages have a tiny indentation to the top page edge and there are a few small nicks to a few top page edges later in the book. There is no other writing, no loose, torn or missing pages and the book has a tight, firm, square binding. The author, from Tennessee originally, also wrote: Diana’s Livery, An Earthly Paragon, One of the Visconti, Bound in Shallows, Prairie Infanta, and many short stories and poems.
