Near fine, with some pages towards the end clumsily cut, in original dust jacket with very short closed tear along the top of the front hinge, a crease to the spine, and some light shelfwear. First American edition, first issue binding. 292 pp. 8vo. Nabokov's first book published in America. It was originally published as Camera Obscura in 1936, in a translation by Winifred Roy that so displeased Nabokov that he translated the book again, himself. He would eventually translate all of his novels originally published in Russian. Juliar A14.2
