RARE Antique Russian Orthodox Book (1897–1902) "Catechetical Talks" (Катихизическія Бесѣды) by Father Sergiy Sadkovsky Complete Set: Parts 1, 2, and 3 in One Volume An exceptional piece of pre-revolutionary Russian history. This rare theological work was written by the prominent Moscow archpriest Sergiy Sadkovsky (father of the holy New Martyr Bishop Ignatiy Sadkovsky). Year of Publication: Part 1 issued in 1897; subsequent censorship clearance dated June 15, 1902 (Moscow Ecclesiastical Censorship Committee). This book represents the pinnacle of late 19th-century Russian Orthodox pastoral education. Published by the legendary University Typography on Strastnoy Boulevard, Moscow, this volume survived the turbulent years of the Bolshevik Revolution, Soviet anti-religious campaigns, and two World Wars. The author, Father Sergiy Sadkovsky, was a highly respected Moscow theologian and graduate of the Moscow Theological Academy. His family became a symbol of Christian martyrdom: his sons later became priests and bishops who were repressed during Soviet times, with his son Bishop Ignatiy being canonized as a Holy New Martyr.
