Second edition, 1904, of Tales of the Canterbuty Pilgrims, Geoffrey Chaucer's medieval masterpiece retold by F. J. Harvey Darton. Beutifully illustrated throughout by Hugh Thomson with all his usual wit and elegance and housed in a wonderful gilt embossed casing. Book is in very good condition. Clean throughout: no foxing, marginalia, grubby fingerprints, or anything of that ilk. Boards, spine, and text-block, all solid and square. Hinges, free of cracks. Minor wear to top of spine - see pictures for close-up.
