London: Jonathan Cape, 1973. [Spy novels] FIRST CAPE EDITION of the first James Bond omnibus to be published in the UK. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.748. Publisher's cloth-effect paper over boards, blocked in gilt to the spine, in the metallic-effect dust-wrapper printed in black and red, clipped and re-priced by publisher's at £3.95. No inscriptions, some minor spotting/dustiness to top edge. Near fine, in an excellent example of the foil jacket, which easily shows wear; this copy has a few very light marks to rear, and one laminate bubble, but is certainly one of the best we have handled. One of only 6000 copies. The eye-catching 70s jacket is printed in the 'Dufex' process, whereby a metallic foil is imprinted with a design or image via litho printing. Gilbert E4 (1).
