Early quarter cloth and plain boards, later rebacked, retaining the original backstrip and paper title-label (both a little worn and discoloured, with minor loss); all edges uncut; original endpapers a little marked, with the inner hinges reinforced with cloth; occasional pencilled emphases and annotations; scattered foxing and offsetting (in a few instances from samples of grasses, a few still present); minor signs of use and age; a very good copy with the ownership details of Geo B.
