Essays in European Economic Thought. First collected edition, the first appearance in English of "some of the most brilliant essays in economics written in Europe in the past decade" (p. v). The essays are authored by Carl Menger, Friedrich Freiherr von Wieser, Ludwig von Mises, Paul Painlevé, Jacques Rueff, Ludwig Pohle, and Luigi Einaudi. This copy belonged to Robert Denis Collison Black (1922-2008), who was Professor of Economics at Queen's University Belfast and internationally recognized as the foremost authority on William Stanley Jevons. Black's ownership inscription is on the front free endpaper.
