Rare map of northern Pakistan at the foot of the Himalayas, showing the town of Rustan and its country up to the border of the North Western Frontier. Issued the year that certain tribes from Afghanistan tried to push across the Durand Line in a response to the weakening of the borders caused by pulling troops to the Western Front during WWI. We can find no institutional record of this edition of this map (not in BL). 1917 edition with additions and corrections; heliozincographed colour map, dissected into 16 segments and laid on linen, folding into original buff paper ends with title label, full dimensions: 57 x 42 cm, scale 1:63,360, one linen fold split, very good.
