Very easily read first-person combat reports and stories, excellent photos, a highly recommended book that will be a valued part of your collection. An inferior quality softcover version was printed by Stackpole in 2004. Here's an Amazon customer review (2011) which gives the book 5 out of 5 stars: the words are NOT my own and are used for descriptive purposes only It has been proven over and over again that the victors write the history. In the case of this particular book it is great to hear the "other side". I am not defending the politics or the atrocities committed by the Nazi regime, however the quality of German soldiers, sailors and airmen that responded to the call of their nations is no less inspiring as those in any other country. Panzer Aces and Panzer Aces II are great books that give a very unique and often unheard perspective of how the "other half" lived, fought and in some cases died.
