The Hollow Hill.
£175 · Offered by Maggs Bros Ltd
A presentation copy, inscribed by the author to the British poet, literary critic and academic Jon Stallworthy (1935-2014) in blue ink to the front free endpaper, and with an autograph letter loosely inserted. The letter from Raine indicates a close relationship with Stallworthy. She writes that “with the greatest pleasure I send the two signed books” (only the one present here) and promises to read a work Stallworthy sent to her. She likewise thanks Stallworthy for his invitation for an event that included a Mr. Bell, most likely the Oxford University Press literary editor and publisher, John Bell. A very good copy, the spine of the dust jacket toned and with some minor edge wear.
