Cinquante-huit Poèmes. First edition, presentation copy, inscribed by the translator to his mother on the front free endpaper, "Pour Maman - En affection filiale, Jon, Paris 4/1/68". David Jonathan Grossman (1922-1990) was a close friend and the authorized translator of E. E. Cummings. Grossman was awarded the Prix Halperine-Kaminsky for his translations in 1980.
