Catalogue [With Notes] of the Aneurin Williams Collection of Book Plates, Herbert Millingchamp Vaughan — 1st Edition, Limited Publication: Aberystwyth, National Library of Wales, 1938 Formatting: 8vo, pp. 142. Condition Report: Very Good. Bound in the original buff quarter cloth over matching paper boards, the binding remains remarkably square and tight, with sharp corners and only minor surface toning or faint handling marks typical of such light-coloured materials. The black stamped lettering to the spine remains notably crisp and unrubbed. The text block edges show light, age-appropriate toning, retaining their original untrimmed state at the fore and lower edges. Internally, the volume is exceptionally clean; the hinges are entirely sound, and the pages are bright, crisp, and completely free from foxing or prominent wear, presenting a beautifully preserved copy. Catalogue Note: This is the first edition, strictly limited to an issuance of 500 copies. The volume features a detailed frontispiece illustrating the book-plate of Lloyd, Lord Kenyon, Baron of Gredington, which includes a complex heraldic achievement. As a specialised bibliographical catalogue produced for the National Library of Wales, copies are relatively uncommon on the open market today, with most surviving examples held in institutional collections. Compiled by the noted Welsh historian and author Herbert Millingchamp Vaughan, this catalogue serves as a comprehensive guide to the Aneurin Williams Collection
