This volume is securely bound in its original black cloth, which remains impeccably tight and square with striking, unoxidised gilt titling to the spine. The boards are clean and completely free of bumping. Internally, the pages are crisp, uniformly bright, and entirely devoid of foxing, thumbing, or extraneous markings, reflecting exceptionally careful previous ownership. It falls just short of a 'Fine' grade only due to the most trivial, barely perceptible shelf-wear to the extreme edges of the dust jacket. Otherwise, the original unclipped dust jacket is in excellent condition, retaining deep, rich colouration without sun-fading. Crucially, the jacket is preserved beneath its original promotional wrap-around 'SIGNED' band, which remains complete and untorn. Catalogue Note: This is a true First Edition, first printing. The book features a neat, personalised presentation inscription from the author in black ink on the front free endpaper: "To Judith, with best wishes, Bill Randle."
