Contemporary cloth-backed marbled boards; pp. [vi], 116; wormholes with restorations, otherwise a good copy of a rare survival. First published in 1819, this Telugu primer retells episodes from the life of the mythical Indian King Vikramarka, or Vikramaditya. Ravepate Gooroomoorte was employed as 'Deputy Teloogoo Master' at the College of Fort St. George in Chennai. The college had been founded by F. W. Ellis in 1812 to research and teach South Indian languages. This apparently useful book was printed five times; the last edition appearing in 1865. SKU: 2121872
