This rare signed 2000 hardback picture book titled Elmer And The Stranger by David McKee (1935-2022) is a true gem for any collector or children’s book enthusiast. The book features his popular creation Elmer (he was also responsible for creating the character Mr Benn). who undergoes an adventure with a host of other animals including a Kangaroo who is the stranger Elmer has never seen before. This book is in a very good complete seemingly unread condition, with no writing, tears or creases save for a barely noticeable mark at the base of the spine which I have attempted to capture in the final photo. It has been signed by David McKee on the inside front cover where he has also added a lovely drawing of Elmer and the Kangaroo dated it 2000 when the book was released. The book is a must-have for fans of David McKee’s work and collectors of illustrated children’s books.
