The Novels. First Dulac edition. This was Dulac's first commission after the Anglophile young artist's arrival in England in 1904 to compete with Arthur Rackham in the illustrated gift book market. The set comprises Jane Eyre, Shirley, Vilette, Wuthering Heights, Agnes Grey, and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.Three photographic postcards are loosely inserted. These depict the inspiration for Wuthering Heights, a reproduction of George Richmond's drawing of Charlotte Brontë, and a reproduction of Branwell Brontë's painting of Charlotte, Emily, and Anne.
