Original publisher's cloth, spines lettered in gilt and with Pizarro's coat-of-arms, boards ornamented in blind; pp. xl, 527; xix, 547, two steel-engraved portrait frontispieces with toned tissue guards, one map and one facsimile; bindings a little faded and rubbed, internally, apart from light offsetting from endpapers a very clean and fresh copy with contemp[orary ownership inscription to front fly-leaves. First edition, early printing without printer's name on copyright page.
