Original cloth, lettered and ornamented in glit, top edge gauffered in gilt, patterned endpapers; pp. 12, photogravure title and 50 photogravure plates with tissue guards; only light rubbing to extremities, light spotting to text, the plates in very good condition, apart from occasional minimal and mostly marginal spotting. First English language edition of this magnificent photobok on Venice in the 1890s, in a binding with lettering in French. Ongania had an antiquarian bookshop in St. Marc's Square and supplied Ruskin and J.P. Morgan with bibliophile material. SKU: 2121298
