Second edition (first, 1928, third edition published in 1940) of a very useful book on tropical gardening, based on a series of articles published in the Malay Mail . 'I have endeavoured to give the result of my own experience of gardening in Malaya over a number of years. Practically all this experience was gained in my own garden at Kajang, Selangor, which I saw grow from partly cleared jungle land - as it was when I went to it in 1910 - to the garden which I left seventeen years later with many regrets in December, 1926' (Preface).
