Inquire · Offered by Peter Harrington

Studies in Deductive Logic. A Manual for Students. First edition, inscribed by Jevons on the title-page, "J. N. Keynes, from the author, 2 Oct. 1880". There are also two manuscript corrections to the exercises in chapter XXIII in Keynes's hand. Jevons's student textbook, one of his most popular and accessible publications, was the final work he wrote while the chair of political economy at University College London. A later owner has annotated the blank recto of the frontispiece, recording the book as coming from Samuel Orlinick, a bookseller trading in New York as the Scientific Library Service. According to the owner, Orlinick had purchased several books from Keynes's widow.
