For sale is a vintage and extremely rare copy of RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER written by Robert L. May and originally published by Montgomery Ward. This copy has a publication date of 1939 and is a "True First Printing". It was originally distributed as a promotional booklet given away by Montgomery Ward as a softcover and printed on fragile paper so finding one intact is rare. This copy comes complete with all original pages. However, the cover is not attached as it has broken free from the staples over the years (Please see all images). This copy is the highly coveted "True First Printing" of 1939 as you can see if you look through all the images until to get to page 9 and look carefully at the illustration of the airplanes. The "True First Printing", as this is, explicitly shows a three-engine (tri-motor) plane. The second printing was changed to a two-engine plane. As a true first edition, this book holds historical significance and is a valuable addition to any collector who loves vintage Christmas memorabilia. Measurements of the booklet are 7.5"X 10.25".
