This edition covering Upper Egypt was published a year before the English edition of the same title in 1892 The next German edition on Egypt (1897) combined both Upper and Lower Egypt in one volume. This is a fine example of a rare Baedeker edition. Issued c.1891. First edition; pp xl, 400, 11 maps, 26 plans and floor plans, some coloured, inner hinge slightly cracked,previous owner's stamp inside, publisher's red cloth gilt, spine faded; otherwise a very good copy.
