Alfred Hayes, screenplayer writer, poet, and novelist, is one of our truly underrated writers. The NYRB has rereleased a few of his books, most notably the pulp romance In Love (one of this seller's favorite novels); his prose is cinematic and dynamic. This is a nice copy to have on the shelf. The dust jacket is safely cased in mylar.
