A Short Memoir of Mohammed Ali, founder of the Vice-Royalty of Egypt.

£950 · Offered by Maggs Bros Ltd

A scarce, albeit brief, work by an important yet little-known author. Murray was H.M. Consul-General in Egypt from 1846 until 1853, and after this moved to Persia, where he became involved in a serious diplomatic row after being accused of committing adultery, withdrawing from his post until he received an apology from the Shah.
