EDSON'S RAIDERS: The 1st Marine Raider Battalion in World War II by COL Joseph H. Alexander, USMC Ret. VERY GOOD++ Limited Edition hardcover, one of 3000 produced by the Edson's Raiders Association, 1999. A history of the unit known by the name of its founding commander, the legendary jungle fighter Merritt A. "Red Mike" Edson. The Raiders provided the vanguard of a US Marine Corps experiment with special lightly armed, mobile commando units in the Pacific during WWII.
