She was also a patroness involved in Buenos Aires's Pro-Arte group.Borges's first collection of short stories contains many of his most famous, such as "Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius", "Pierre Menard, autor del Quijote", "La lotería en Babilonia", and "La biblioteca de Babel". A latecomer to the form, Borges spent two decades publishing mostly poetry and literary criticism before preparing this collection while working as an assistant librarian.The collection was republished with an additional six stories as Ficciones (1944), winning Borges international acclaim.A note of provenance is loosely inserted.
