Provenance : front pastedown with library plate of Flyfishers' Club, with deaccession stamp. First edition. Scarce. Henry Garrett Newland (1804 - 60) was the rector of Westbourne in West Sussex. Most of his published works were books and pamphlets in support of the Tractarian movement, but he also wrote a work on Norwegian landscape and this entertaining, anecdotal volume on fishing in Ireland.
