An uncommon work expounding on the virtues of roulette for entertainment as well as gambling, from the library of American gaming magnate and casino owner, Bill Harrah. This little work is the self-proclaimed "First and only publication of the kind in the United States," and provides a handy guide to success at the roulette wheel. "With these tables before him," the introduction claims, "the merest tyro can study the game and become as proficient at it as he can possibly become at whist by studying Hoyle...or chess by studying any of the many manuals." Claiming to borrow knowledge from French treatises, the text includes definitions of game terms (mostly from French), an illustration of the classic French single-zero roulette table, general tips for betting and gambling, and outlines of twenty different strategies for picking one's numbers. The end of the volume prints an extensive set of tables, listing the results of several hundred spins of an actual roulette wheel in Monte Carlo for ten days in March 1901.
